To the seekers of divine wisdom, Grace to you and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ. I have received your earnest inquiry concerning the passage in Romans, chapter 6, verses 20 to 23. These verses speak profoundly of our former state in sin and our new life in Christ. "For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness." This illustrates our past condition: enslaved to sin, we were estranged from the righteousness of God. In sin, our actions were not aligned with God's holy standards, and thus, we were alienated from His righteousness. "What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed?" Reflect, brethren, on the fruit of our former ways. These deeds, now a cause for shame, led only to spiritual death and separation from God. They bore no lasting or righteous fruit but were rooted in the fleeting pleasures and deceits of sin. "For the end of those things is death." The wages of sin, the just and inevitable outcome, is death. This is not merely physical demise but eternal separation from the presence and glory of God. "But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life." In Christ Jesus, we have been liberated from the bondage of sin. As servants of God, our lives now bear fruit unto holiness. This transformation leads us towards our ultimate reward, which is everlasting life. "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." This profound truth encapsulates the gospel. While sin pays its wages in death, God offers us the free gift of eternal life through our Lord Jesus Christ. This gift is not earned through our deeds but is bestowed upon us by His grace and mercy. Therefore, beloved, let us embrace our new life in Christ, walking in holiness and righteousness, ever mindful of the great gift of eternal life that we have received through our Savior. Let this truth guide your hearts and your steps as you journey in faith. Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen Apostle Paul
