**To Timothy, my true son in the faith, and to All Who Serve in the Household of God,** In my guidance to you regarding the qualifications for deacons, I wrote in 1 Timothy 3:9 (KJV): "Holding the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience." Let me, as one appointed to preach and teach in His name, shed further light upon this profound directive. The phrase "holding the mystery of the faith" speaks to the profound truths of the gospel that deacons, and indeed all believers, are called to uphold. This mystery, once concealed but now revealed through Christ Jesus, encompasses the entirety of God’s redemptive plan — the incarnation, life, death, and resurrection of Christ, and the offer of salvation to all. To hold this mystery is not merely to possess intellectual assent or doctrinal knowledge. It is a deep-seated commitment to the truth of the Gospel, coupled with a life that reflects its transformative power. The faith we profess must be evident in the way we live, act, and interact with others. A "pure conscience" is essential in this context. It speaks of integrity, moral clarity, and an unswerving commitment to what is right and true. A pure conscience is not marked by perfection but by a sincere and ongoing pursuit of holiness, an openness to correction, and a steadfastness in the face of trials and temptations. For those serving as deacons, this is of utmost importance. They are called not only to serve in practical matters but also to be examples of godly character, demonstrating the reality of their faith through their conduct. Their service, grounded in a pure conscience, becomes a powerful testimony of the grace and truth of the gospel. Therefore, I exhort you, Timothy, and all who serve in the church, to take heed to this instruction. Embrace and uphold the mystery of the faith with a pure conscience. Let your life be a reflection of the truths you profess. In doing so, you will not only ensure a fruitful ministry but also lay hold of the life that is truly life. May the Lord grant you wisdom, strength, and grace as you continue in your service to Him. May your life be a beacon of His love and truth, drawing many into the saving knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. In His Unfailing Love, Paul, an Apostle of Christ Jesus by the Command of God our Savior
