**To the Believers in Ephesus and to All Who Are Joined to Christ,** In a previous discourse, under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, I declared in Ephesians 5:32 (KJV): "This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church." I write to you now to further explain this profound truth. This mystery, great and wondrous, pertains to the profound union between Christ and the church. It is likened to the sacred bond of marriage, where a man and woman are united as one flesh. In this analogy, Christ is represented as the bridegroom and the church as His bride. The marital relationship, with its depth of intimacy, love, and commitment, serves as a vivid illustration of the relationship between Christ and His church. Just as a husband loves his wife and a wife respects her husband, so too is the relationship between Christ and His church characterized by love, sacrifice, and mutual submission. Christ's love for the church is demonstrated in His sacrificial giving of Himself, even unto death on the cross. This selfless act was to sanctify the church, making her holy and blameless, washing her by the water of the word. In this, we see the ultimate expression of love, a love that seeks the highest good of the beloved. The church, in turn, is called to respond to Christ’s love with submission and devotion, recognizing His headship and sovereignty. This submission is not one of servitude or inferiority, but of reverence and honor, acknowledging Christ as the Lord and Savior, the one who loved us and gave Himself up for us. This mystery reveals the profound nature of our relationship with Christ. It speaks of our union with Him, our identity in Him, and our destiny to be with Him forever. As the bride of Christ, we are called to be faithful, pure, and expectant, looking forward to the day when we shall see Him face to face. Therefore, let us cherish and uphold the sanctity of marriage, recognizing in it a reflection of the greater reality of Christ and the church. Let us also nurture our relationship with Christ, growing in love, holiness, and obedience, as we await His glorious return. May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you, and may this understanding of the great mystery of Christ and the church enrich your faith and deepen your devotion to Him.
