Grace and peace to you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, My dear brothers and sisters in the faith, I am moved to address a matter of great significance—one that pertains to the state of one's mind and heart. Throughout my thirteen epistles, I have spoken about the consequences of a mind given over to a debased or reprobate state. As I wrote to the Romans, "Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another" (Romans 1:24). When individuals turn away from God's truth and righteousness, their minds can become clouded by the darkness of sin. This can lead to actions and choices that are contrary to God's design for our lives. Furthermore, in my letter to the Romans, I spoke of those who exchanged the truth of God for a lie and worshiped created things rather than the Creator (Romans 1:25). When the mind becomes consumed with idolatry and ungodliness, it can lead to a downward spiral of distorted thinking and behavior. A reprobate mind, my dear ones, is a mind that has become futile in its thinking and estranged from the wisdom of God. It is a mind that has been given over to impurity, lust, and dishonorable passions (Romans 1:28-32). It manifests itself in disobedience, unrighteousness, and a refusal to acknowledge God. I cautioned the Corinthians to take heed lest they fall into a similar state, saying, "Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you—unless, of course, you fail the test?" (2 Corinthians 13:5). Self-examination is vital to ensure that our minds are aligned with the truth of God's Word. To the Ephesians, I emphasized the importance of putting off the old self and being renewed in the spirit of your minds (Ephesians 4:22-24). This renewal comes through the transformative power of Christ and allows us to live in righteousness and holiness. Let us not be conformed to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of our minds (Romans 12:2). We must fix our thoughts on whatever is true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent, and praiseworthy (Philippians 4:8). In closing, my beloved, guard your minds and hearts diligently. Seek after God's truth, allowing His Word to shape your thoughts and guide your actions. Reject the allure of a reprobate mind and instead, strive for a mind that is renewed, transformed, and focused on Christ. May the peace of God guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). And may you find strength in His grace to walk in righteousness, living as a reflection of His glorious light. Yours in Christ's service, Apostle Paul
