Dear Brothers and Sisters, I am writing to you to share a message on prayer from my personal letter to Philemon. Let us turn our attention to Philemon 1:4-6 (KJV): "I thank my God, making mention of thee always in my prayers, Hearing of thy love and faith, which thou hast toward the Lord Jesus, and toward all saints; That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus." In these verses, I express my gratitude for Philemon and highlight the role of prayer in our relationship: 1. **Thanksgiving in Prayer:** I thank God continually and mention Philemon in my prayers. This demonstrates the importance of gratitude and remembrance of one another in prayer. 2. **Love and Faith:** I acknowledge Philemon's love and faith, both toward the Lord Jesus and all saints. These qualities are celebrated and recognized in prayer. 3. **Effectual Faith:** I pray that Philemon's faith may become effectual through the acknowledgment of every good thing in Christ Jesus. This highlights the transformative power of faith when we recognize the blessings and potential within us through Christ. These verses remind us of the relational aspect of prayer. It's not just about making requests but also about expressing gratitude, celebrating one another's faith and love, and seeking the growth and effectiveness of each other's faith. As you engage in prayer, remember to thank God for your fellow believers and to lift them up in prayer, acknowledging their faith, love, and potential in Christ. Let your prayers be a source of encouragement and empowerment for one another. May the communication of your faith become effectual as you pray for and with one another, and may your prayers strengthen the bonds of love and unity within the body of Christ. In His grace and fellowship, Apostle Paul
