Foreknowledge Of God **A Letter from the Apostle Paul** To the beloved brethren who walk in the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, Greetings in the name of our Savior, who has redeemed us by His own blood and called us according to His purpose. Regarding the matter of the foreknowledge of God, let us turn our hearts to His eternal wisdom, as revealed in the Scripture. In Romans 8:29, it is written: *"For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren."* Here, we see the eternal counsel of God, who in His infinite wisdom and love foreknew His children—not merely foreseeing their actions, but setting His love upon them before the foundation of the world. By His grace, He predestined them to share in the likeness of His Son, that they might walk in holiness, love, and glory. This is not of works, but wholly of grace, according to the gospel. Consider also the story of Rebecca, found in Genesis 24. Abraham, desiring a wife for his son Isaac, sent his servant to seek one from his kindred. The servant, in prayer, sought guidance from the Lord, and God, in His providence, led him to Rebecca. When asked if she would go, Rebecca replied, "I will go." Is this not a beautiful picture of the foreknowledge and calling of God? Though Rebecca was free to choose, it was evident that the Lord had prepared her heart for this moment. Her willingness to leave her family and go to a land she had not seen mirrors the call of grace. For even as we are called in Christ, it is God who works in us to will and to act according to His good purpose. The foreknowledge of God does not negate our response but ensures that His purposes are fulfilled. Just as Rebecca willingly chose to go, so too are we called to willingly believe the gospel. Yet, behind our response is the eternal plan of God, who loved us, chose us, and predestined us to be conformed to the image of His Son. This truth, dear brethren, should lead us not to question but to worship. For it is a testimony of the sovereignty and grace of God, who works all things according to the counsel of His will. As it is written, *"Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out!"* (Romans 11:33). Therefore, let us walk in faith, trusting that He who began a good work in us will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ. For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined; and whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified. **Conclusion** God, in His infinite wisdom, has granted us free will, allowing each of us to respond to His call. Yet, in His foreknowledge, He already knows who will answer Him with a willing and humble heart. This truth reveals both His sovereignty and His deep desire for a genuine relationship with us. As the Scripture says, *"Today, if you hear His voice, do not harden your hearts" (Hebrews 3:15).* It is an invitation filled with urgency and love. God’s foreknowledge does not force our decision but rather works in harmony with our free response. He lovingly prepares our hearts, but the choice to embrace His grace remains ours. This balance between God’s foreknowledge and our free will is a profound mystery that draws us to trust in His perfect wisdom. His call is a call to salvation, transformation, and eternal life in Christ. May we always respond with soft and receptive hearts, yielding to His Spirit as He draws us closer to Himself. Grace and peace be multiplied to you in Christ Jesus our Lord. Apostle Paul
