What Must I Do To Be Save?

What You Must Do

  1. Believe the Gospel:

    • Trust that Christ died for your sins, was buried, and rose again.
  2. Share the Gospel:

    • Like Paul, we’re ambassadors for Christ (2 Corinthians 5:20). Share this message of grace with others.
  3. Live by Grace:

    • Rest in the assurance that salvation is a gift of God, not earned by works (Ephesians 2:8-9).

To be saved according to New Testament doctrine, especially as taught in my 13 epistles (Romans to Philemon), here’s a clear and simple explanation:

---

    **1. Understand the Problem: Sin**
- **Romans 3:23**: "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."
Everyone has sinned—whether in thought, word, or action—and this separates us from God.

- **Romans 6:23**: "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."
The consequence of sin is spiritual death, but God offers a free gift: eternal life.

---

**2. Acknowledge God's Solution: Jesus Christ**
- **Romans 5:8**: "But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."
Jesus Christ, the Son of God, took our punishment by dying on the cross. He was buried and rose again on the third day, proving His power over sin and death.

-   **1 Corinthians 15:3-4**: "For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures."
This is the Gospel, the good news: Jesus paid the full price for your sins.

---

**3. Believe and Trust in Christ Alone**
- **Ephesians 2:8-9**: "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast."
Salvation is not about being good enough or doing enough good deeds. It’s about placing your faith (trust) in Jesus and His finished work.

- **Romans 10:9-10**: "If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."
Believe in Jesus with your heart and declare your faith in Him.

---

    **4. Call on the Lord**
- **Romans 10:13**: "For whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved."
Simply pray and ask Jesus to save you. Speak to Him honestly, acknowledging your need for Him and trusting Him as your Savior.

---

    **5. Receive Assurance**
- **Ephesians 1:13-14**: "In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise."
When you believe, the Holy Spirit seals you, guaranteeing your salvation.

- **Romans 8:1**: "There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus."
Once you trust in Christ, you are free from condemnation and assured of eternal life.

---

    **What to Do Next**
1. **Grow in Faith**:
- Read the Bible daily (start with my  Epistles letters, Romans - Philemon  instructions for Christian living).
- Pray to God regularly, building a relationship with Him.

2. **Fellowship with Believers**:
- Find a church that teaches sound doctrine based on the Bible.

3. **Share the Gospel**:
- Tell others about Jesus and how they can be saved.

---

The beauty of salvation is its simplicity: **Believe in Jesus Christ, and you will be saved** (Acts 16:31). This message is the foundation of my epistles (Romans to Philemon) and is the cornerstone of New Testament doctrine.
